Blades are pleased to be supporting the Veronica Claxton Memorial Fund in association with Clic Sargent.

On Sunday the 20th December, 75 volunteers will be leaving Huntingdon at 8am and cycling along the guided bus path to Addenbrookes. Each volunteer is aiming to raise £50 for the charity, as well as each bringing a Christmas present with them for the children at Addenbrookes Hospital.

A reception will be held at Godmanchester Football Club at 2pm on Sunday for the cycling champions, please come and show your support as well and make a donation to this fantastic charity.

We have recently starting stocking a new product and service called Olaplex. Olaplex is a hair repair treatment which can be mixed in with colouring products to help minimise damage, or used on it’s own as a separate treatment. It works in a way to help strengthen, condition, and improve the texture of your hair.

Hair can become broken by many factors including hair colouring, repeated heat, sunlight, and hair styling. The breakage of hair leads to it becoming weakened and damaged. Olaplex works to repair the bonds in the hair, resulting in stronger, smoother hair.

Hair contains lots of keratin proteins, which include the amino acid, cysteine. Cysteine contains a sulphur atom, which when joined together form a disulphide bond creating a link between two proteins. When all the proteins are joined together, they are partially responsible for the overall strength and shape of your hair.

You will benefit from Olaplaex treatment if you have hair extensions, bleached hair, foil highlights, or excess of heat and styling equipment. The over use of these can result in hair breakage and damage.

On Saturday 18th April, St Ives Boxing Club held a White Collar Boxing Event in aid of TARGET 50k for CLIC Sargent Children with Cancer. Blades were delighted to support our chosen charity in sponsoring one of the bout’s won by local man Jamie Clarke. We were delighted to hear that lots of money was raised and a great night had by all.

Our fantastic rising star, Chloe Goldsmith is spending today and tomorrow at the Wella World Studios in London, undertaking their Advanced Colour Correction course. Our award winning Graduate Stylist has a real passion for learning and exploring all avenues of hairdressing and we look forward to her bringing her new found skills back into the salon.
